Taken together, our data demonstrate that truncated proteins arising from BRCA1 185delAG mutation increase Akt-mediated apoptosis, suggesting a possible mechanism by which ovarian cancer patients with this germline BRCA1 mutation may respond better to initial chemotherapy.
