The 59 HLA-A/B and HLA-DRB/DQB alleles from Eales disease were compared with those from tuberculosis and normal control, and a correlativity test of common susceptible genes was performed to analyze the potential relationship between Eales disease and pulmonary tuberculosis.
We determined the high-resolution allele and haplotype frequencies at the human leucocyte antigen (HLA)A, B and DRB1 loci in the Han population of Hubei province, the TB endemic area of Central China, with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), and established the relationship between HLA-A, B and DRB1 alleles as well as haplotypes and susceptibility to multidrug-resistant and rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB).
An increased frequency of HLA-A-10, B7, B15, DR2 and DQ1 was seen in the pulmonary-TB (PTB) patients when compared to the total control subjects (n = 122).
Affinity (ED(50)) and half-life (t(1/2), off-rate) analysis for individual peptide species on HLA-A and HLA-B molecules revealed binding ranges between 10(-3) and 10(-7) M.
