Furthermore, the data establish that ABCA1 and apoCIII-containing HDL play key roles in the prevention of apoCIII-induced hypertriglyceridemia in mice.
However, subgroup analyses showed that the ABCA1C69T gene mutation significantly reduced the risk of hypertriglyceridemia in diabetic patients as compared with that in non-diabetic subjects (dominant model: WMD =0.66, 95% CI = 0.52-0.8, P < 0.0001; recessive model: WMD = 0.47, 95%CI = 0.11-0.83, P = 0.01).
