Currently standard treatments have limited effect to increase the survival, because there are still largely unclear mechanisms in glioblastoma development. miR-223 was involved in various types of cancer, however, the function of miR-223-3p in GBM was still unclear.
In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that TMZ inhibits GBM cell proliferation by inhibiting the expression of miR‑223, which leads to increased expression of tumor suppressor PAX6.
In the present study, we revealed that miR-223/PAX6 axis regulated the growth, invasion, and chemo resistance of glioblastoma stem cells to TMZ via regulating PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, which present a novel potential therapy for intervention of glioblastoma.
