Thus, our findings reveal that the PHB2-PARL-PGAM5-PINK1 axis is a novel pathway of PHB2-mediated mitophagy and that targeting PHB2 with the chemical compound FL3 is a promising strategy for cancer therapy.
The six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate 2 (STEAP2) protein was identified in advanced prostate cancer, and is highly over-expressed in various types of cancer.
TImer algorithm was used to provide an overview of the expression of CHMP3 gene across human pan-cancer, to predict the survival outcome of breast cancer patients, and to predict the correlation between CHMP3 gene expression and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)-related gene expression.
The flavoenzyme D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO) represents a potentially good option for cancer enzyme prodrug therapy as it produces H2O2 using D-amino acids as substrates, compounds present at low concentration in vivo and that can be safely administered to regulate H2O2 production.
The risk to benefit ratio of IDD makes it a relatively safe therapy for both cancer- and noncancer-related pain, but it is not free of risks, so it should be managed at specific centers.
Collectively, these data showed that abnormal level of miR-298 correlated with cancer development and through that lowered the overall survival rate of CRC patients.
To unveil a novel lncRNA functioning in glioma, we browsed the cancer genome atlas dataset and chose the lncRNA PC-esterase domain containing 1B antisense RNA 1 (PCED1B-AS1) for further investigations.
The risk to benefit ratio of IDD makes it a relatively safe therapy for both cancer- and noncancer-related pain, but it is not free of risks, so it should be managed at specific centers.
In this work, the role of HOXC-AS3 in breast cancer progression was investigated.<b>Methods:</b> By using Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Database, we investigated the expression of HOXC-AS3 in breast cancer and explored the association between HOXC-AS3 expression and prognosis.
Superoxide generation rate, activity of complex I in electron transport chain of mitochondria, activity of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-2 and 9) of adipose tissues (AT) of patients with gastric cancer in AT located adjacent to tumor (ATAT) and at a distance of 3 cm (ATD) are measured to follow the connection of the redox state with some of the microenvironment indicators (HIF-1α, CD68, Plin5), body mass index (BMI) and cancer metastasis.
For the first time, we report the close association between NCAPD2 and cancer and demonstrate that NCAPD2 plays an important role in TNBC progression and acts as an independent poor prognostic factor and a potential therapeutic target for TNBC.
Recently, a number of myositis-specific and -associated autoantibodies (MSAs/MAAs) have been identified and well characterized, and commercial assays for their detection have become available.<b>Areas covered</b>: There is accumulating evidence showing the utility of MSAs/MAAs in diagnosis of DM and in predicting clinical courses and outcomes in patients with DM as convenient biomarkers, i.e. an association of ILD with anti-ARS, anti-MDA5 and anti-SAE; and malignancy with anti-TIF1-γ, anti-NXP2, and anti-SAE in adults.
