We identified 76 genes essential to Burkitt lymphoma, including genes associated with hematopoietic cell differentiation (<i>FLI1, BCL11A</i>) or B-cell development and activation (<i>PAX5, CDKN1B, JAK2, CARD11</i>) and found a number of context-specific dependencies including oncogene addiction in cell lines with <i>TCF3</i>/<i>ID3</i> or <i>MYD88</i> mutation.

ID2 was also expressed in lymphocyte-predominance HL, mediastinal large B-cell, diffuse large B-cell, and Burkitt's lymphoma, where lower amounts of ID2 relative to E2A and PAX5 compared with HRS cells might prevent a global down-regulation of B-cell-specific genes and ID2 may contribute to lymphomagenesis in other ways.
Pax5 was strongly expressed in most of the B cell lymphomas; 44 of 47 diffuse large B cell lymphomas (93.6%), 15 of 16 marginal zone B cell lymphomas (93.8%), all 3 mantle cell lymphomas, 2 follicular lymphomas, and 2 Burkitt's lymphomas (100%).
