The data presented here show that this simple AR assay is convenient for the routine detection of mutant ARs in PCa and is also suitable to evaluate the antagonist activities of anti-androgen molecules.
Importantly, genetic extinction of BRAF(V600E) in established prostate tumors did not lead to tumor regression, indicating that while sufficient to initiate development of invasive prostate adenocarcinoma, BRAF(V600E) is not required for its maintenance.
Indeed, we found that wild-type (wt) but not prostate adenocarcinoma-associated mutants of SPOP promoted AR ubiquitination and degradation, acting directly through a SPOP-binding motif in the hinge region of AR.
The objective of this study was to determine whether the detection of mutant p53 by immunohistochemical staining is predictive of progression in clinically localized adenocarcinoma of the prostate.
The presence of ATM (rs1801516), TP53 (rs1042522, rs1800371, rs17878362, rs17883323, and rs35117667), and MDM2 (rs2279744) polymorphisms was assessed by direct sequencing of PCR fragments from 48 patients with histologically proven prostate adenocarcinoma and treated with external beam radiation.
We report the detection of a p53 gene mutation in clinical specimens of a patient with relapsing prostate adenocarcinoma 14 years after definitive external beam radiation.
Twelve of 23 cases of prostatic adenocarcinoma (52%) in the recurrent group showed HER-2/neu gene amplification, compared with 5 of 19 (26%) in the nonrecurrent group; these findings reached near significance on univariate analysis.
In this article, we report a case of adenocarcinoma of the prostate in a 56-year-old man with Klinefelter syndrome (47,XXY) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as the AR and PSA genotype.
