Here, we investigated the prevalence and clinicopathologic significance of HPV and its reported biomarkers, CDKN2A(p16) and CDKN1A(p21), in laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas in patients treated either with primary surgery and postoperative radiation or with definitive radiation-based therapy.
The present data indicate that the mutational alterations of genes, PIK3CA, p14ARF, p16INK4a and p21Waf1/Cip1 that are frequently mutated in oral squamous cell carcinomas are rare in phenytoin induced gingival growth.
