We found that in wildtype mice expression of the Alox15 gene was augmented during DSS-colitis while expression of other Alox genes (Alox5, Alox15b) was hardly altered.
In the present study, by comparing the responses in wild-type mice (5-LOWT) and mice lacking the 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOKO), we investigated the role played by this enzyme in the development of experimental colitis.
