We conclude that infants with MAS, despite absence of the GNAS activating mutation in blood, may still have significant clinical findings, including ACTH-independent hypercortisolism.
Examining GNAS mutations could help physicians detect extra-adrenal malignancies, which may contribute to an improved prognosis for patients with this type of Cushing's syndrome.
