In patients with OH during HUT, the frequency of dementia and recurrent falls were higher (<i>P</i><0.05); on the other hand, the levels of serum vitamin D and albumin and estimated glomerular filtration rate were lower (<i>P</i><0.05).
Regarding the markers of inflammatory activity, demented subjects had high levels of interleukin-6 (p < 0.01), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (p = 0.02), and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (p = 0.01) and lower albumin levels (p = 0.02) compared to centenarians without dementia.
