Twenty-eight miRs potentially able to modulate angiogenesis were measured in PACs from CLI patients with and without diabetes mellitus and controls. miR-15a and miR-16 were further analyzed.
This study suggests miR-15a is a mediator of β cell function and insulin biosynthesis, thus offering a new target for the development of preventive or therapeutic agents against diabetes.
