The aim of our study was to assess the effects of HBOT on plasma fatty acid (FA) composition, and expression of insulin-like growth factor binding protein 1 (IGFBP-1) in IDDM patients.
Total serum IGF1, IGF2, and IGFBP1-7 levels were measured in an age-matched, cross-sectional cohort at varying stages of progression to type 1 diabetes.
IGFBP-1 was associated with fasting blood glucose, negatively in controls and positively in patients with T1D probably reflecting insulin resistance and insulin deficiency, respectively.
