In the present study, we will summarize the involvement of miR-143 in regulating the development of T2DM and the underlying mechanisms for potential diagnosis, prevention, and treatments, including exercise intervention for T2DM by targeting miR-143.
Insulin resistance, obesity, and hyperlipidemia (high lipid levels in the blood) have a strong connection with T2D and several miRNAs influence these clinical outcomes such as miR-143, miR-103, and miR-107, miR-29a, and miR-27b.
In this study we have evaluated miR-103 and miR-143 expression in three groups of rats namely; normal control, high fat diet (HFD) which is corresponding to prediabetes state, and high fat diet/streptozotocin (STZ) induced T2D.
