Our results showed that ZFAS1 promoted glioma malignant progression by regulating the miR-150-5p/PLP2 axis, which may provide a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of glioma.
Therefore, our results suggest that miR-150 modulates the Warburg effect in glioma via VHL/HIF1α and might provide a novel option for future treatments for glioma.
Transfection of miR-150-5p or miR-133a mimics into glioma cell lines reduced MT1-MMP expression and MMP-2 activation by these cells, and cell proliferation and invasion/migration were also suppressed by it.
