Finally, we propose that the expression level of TFs PAX6/PAX6-5a and miR-183-96-182 may potentially serve as prognostic markers for the progression of glioma tumors from low- to high-grade with a potential to identify new therapeutic approaches.
In conclusion, our study indicated that miR-183 was upregulated in glioma, and that it may be used as a potential biomarker of poor prognosis in patients with glioma.
In present study, we used real-time PCR analysis to demonstrate that miR-183 is upregulated in the majority of high-grade gliomas and glioma cell lines compared with peripheral, non-tumorous brain tissue.
