This population-based study identified 34,167 patients with IBD (11,014 patients with Crohn's disease and 23,153 patients with ulcerative colitis) and 102,501 age-and sex-matched subjects without IBD (the control group) from the National Health Insurance database using the International Classification of Disease, 10th revision codes and the rare intractable disease registration program codes.
Similarly, we discuss localization of TAAR1 expression in the gut, novel findings that TAAR1 may be implicated in inflammatory bowel diseases, and the reported comorbidities of neuropsychiatric disorders and gastrointestinal disorders.
Total CD3 T Cells Are Necessary and Sufficient to Induce Colitis in Immunodeficient Mice With Dendritic Cell-Specific Deletion of TGFbR2: A Novel IBD Model to Study CD4 and CD8 T-Cell Interaction.
IBD was associated (multivariable) with history of uveitis, levels of Dickkopf-1, and tumor necrosis factor, but not with phenotypic presentation (peripheral arthritis, enthesitis, dactylitis, uveitis) or baseline serum levels of other cytokines.
HSCT is the only curative therapy for XLP and this therapy should be urgently considered. What is Known:• SAP and XIAP deficiencies share common clinical feature, HLH, whereas they also have their own specific manifestations.• IBD affects 25-30% of XIAP-deficient patients, which has been reported in other countries especially in European country and Japan. What is New:• This is the largest patient cohort study of XLP in China.• We firstly summarized the clinical features and outcomes of Chinese XIAP-deficient patients and found only 1 in 22 patients developed IBD and diet background may contribute to it; Asian SAP-deficient patients carrying SH2D1AR55X mutation were more prone to HLH.
Luciferase assays confirmed that ETS variant 5 (ETV5) was a functional target of miR-219a-5p and ETV5 expression was significantly increased in the inflamed intestinal mucosa and PB-CD4+ T cells from IBD patients.
The systemic administration of the Hsp90 inhibitor, 17-AAG, was found to be profoundly protective in preclinical mouse models of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
The mean waiting time to elective surgery for IBD patients with active- and inactive disease (e.g. pouch surgery after subtotal colectomy) at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC, between 2013-2015 were compared to colorectal cancer surgery.
Several groups of genes reported in AIEC strains were searched in the five non-IBD-AIEC strains, and the presence of fimA, fliC, fuhD, chuA, irp2 and cvaC were confirmed.
We conducted a series of single-donor intensive and nonintensive fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiments using feces from IBD patients in remission and healthy non-IBD controls (N = 9 donors) in a mouse model of Crohn's disease (CD)-like ileitis that develops ileitis in germ-free (GF) conditions (SAMP1/YitFC; N = 96 mice).
While expression of claudin-2 and claudin-15 has been studied in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and celiac disease (CD), it has not been assessed in other malabsorptive diseases, and no reports have compared expression in children and adults.
To assess clinical outcomes of females diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and infertility, which underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) with preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy.(PGT-A).
We have reported that both SLC7A2 expression and L-Arg availability are decreased in colonic tissues from inflammatory bowel disease patients and that mice lacking Slc7a2 exhibit a more severe disease course when exposed to dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) compared to wild-type (WT) mice.
Angiopoietin-2 wild-type, heterozygote, and knockout mice received a single injection of the procarcinogen azoxymethane and had an IBD-promoting chemical irritant (dextran sodium sulfate) added to their drinking water over a 7-week period.
We observed that C3H ASF and 129 ASF IL-10 are more sensitive towardB7 600 μg/mL vitamin B3 and 1,200 μg/mL vitamin C. The lowest growth rate and viability for all types of organoids was with 1,200 μg/mL vitamin C. From quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis (qPCR analysis), MUC2 was upregulated for 129 ASF and C3H Conv when exposed to 600 μg/mL and 1,200 μg/mL vitamin C. It suggests that large amounts of glycoprotein may be produced after adding high concentrations of vitamin C. Since inflammatory bowel disease has low level of MUC2, this finding may be helpful in restoring mucosal health by upregulating the MUC2 gene while altering patient's microbiota (Sibila et al., Annals of the American Thoracic Society, 2016).
We aimed to replicate the association between the SLC39A8 [Thr]391 risk allele and gut microbiome composition in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and healthy controls.
We then utilized these nanogels for oral delivery of PIAS1 (protein inhibitor of activated STAT1), a SUMO 3 ligase, encoding plasmid DNA since PIAS1 is a key nodal therapeutic target for IBD due to its ability to control NF-κB-mediated inflammatory signaling.
