In addition, total and phosphorylated AKT, ERK, and FAK, which have been shown to be important drivers for meningioma cell proliferation, were markedly lower in silvestrol-treated Ben-Men-1 cells.
Our findings provide strong evidence that RAS protein is highly expressed in meningioma cells, and the RAS activity is inhibited by downregulating ERK and AKT signal pathway, which may further inhibit the growth of meningioma.
Furthermore, we showed that DNMT1 in meningiomas and DNMT1/3b in leptomeninges were regulated via activation of the MAPK (p38, ERK, JNK) and NF-κB pathways.
