In brief, reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction was used to analyze miR‑590 expression in bone tissue samples from rats with OA.
Collectively, the study revealed that lncRNA PART-1 regulates the apoptosis of chondrocytes in OA by acting as a sponge for miR-590-3p, which subsequently regulates TGFBR2/Smad3 signalling.
Our results indicate that upregulation of miR-590-5p may target TGFβ1 to promote chondrocyte apoptosis and autophagy in response to mechanical pressure injury, thus contributing to the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis.
