To investigate the promoting effects of TAZ on the osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells in a rat model of osteoporosis through the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signal.
Based on previous research, we hypothesized that RES regulates FoxO1 transcriptional activity through the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT signaling pathway to achieve an antioxidative effect on osteoporosis and then we confirmed this hypothesis in the present study.
Together, these results demonstrate that TNF-α synergistically promotes RANKL-induced osteoclasts formation through activation of PI3K/Akt signaling, which ultimately contributes to osteoporosis syndrome in postmenopausal women.
Taken together, it is concluded that DEC1 likely supports the action of icariin against glucocorticoid induced osteoporosis with an involvement of the PI3K/Akt/GSK3β/β-catenin integrated signaling pathway.
