In our study, we detected the six members of miR-17-92 cluster in osteosarcoma cell line, finding that the expression of miR-17 and miR-19b was up-regulated significantly.
Conclusively, we revealed that the regulatory axis consisting of the miR-17-92 cluster/QKI2/β-catenin plays a crucial role in the development and progression of osteosarcoma.
Together, our data support a model where the deregulation of a network involving 14q32 miRNAs, cMYC and miR-17-92 miRNAs could contribute to osteosarcoma pathogenesis.
Previous studies have reported miR‑18a expression in patients with OS is significantly decreased compared with that in normal adjacent tissue. miR‑18a belongs to the miR‑17‑92 cluster encoded by the host gene MIR17HG.
