Immunohistochemistry showed that cells expressing the NSPC marker Nestin appeared after MOG peptide administration, predominantly at the sites of demyelination where abundant inflammatory cells had accumulated, whereas Nestin<sup>+</sup> cells were rarely present in the spinal cord of PBS-treated control mice.
