We treated BS on 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB)-induced AD-like skin lesions in NC/Nga mice, anti-CD3/anti-CD28-stimulated splenocytes, and phorbol myristate acetate/calcium ionophore A23187-stimulated human mast cell line (HMC-1) cells.
These in situ findings suggest that costimulation via the B7-CD28 pathway may be important for the generation and/or propagation of T cell activity in skin lesions of humans with lupus erythematosus.
