High levels of TPOAb (thyroid peroxidase antibody) (OR (Odds Ratio) = 1.51, 95% CI (confidence interval): 0.99-2.30) and TGAb (OR = 2.86, 95% CI: 1.49-5.51) were associated with increased risk of thyroid nodules, compared with corresponding low levels.
In FNAC studies, the association between HT and PTC is based on the comparison of anti-thyroid autoantibodies (ATA) (anti-thyroperoxidase [TPOAb] and anti-thyroglobulin [TgAb]), thyroid function (TSH), and cytology with histology of thyroid nodules and lymphocytic thyroid infiltration (LTI) of operated thyroid glands.
Participants were further stratified into thyroid autoantibody positive group (at least one positive) and thyroid autoantibody negative group (both negative) according to the thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb) and thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) levels, and restricted cubic spline regression was also applied to determine the possible nonlinear relationship between urinary BPA and TNs.
