Coincidently, levonorgestrel (LNG), a well-known uterus leiomyoma therapy, could induce miR-197 expression in human uterus leiomyoma cells, and over-expression of miR-197 showed a synergy effect on human uterus leiomyoma cell proliferation and apoptosis with LNG.
Our study explored gene expression patterns after miR-197 overexpression and confirmed 17 dominantly dys-regulated genes, which could expand the insights into the function of miR-197 and the molecular mechanisms during the development and progression of uterine leiomyomas.
