We investigated the effects of xeroderma pigmentosum D (XPD) on the growth of hepatoma cells and the expressions of P21, Bax, Bcl-2 and Hepatitis B virus X protein (HBx).
Our results showed significantly lower levels of expression of the antiapoptotic Bcl-2 molecule, in XP, in comparison with non-XP and NBCCS T-lymphocytes, leading to the highest Bax/Bcl-2 ratio for XP T-cells.
