Consistently the sublineage LAM, the most common in sensitive strains in Europe, is the more frequent in Portugal in contrast with the remaining European MDR-TB picture where immigrant-associated Beijing strains are more common.
Finally, CD4<sup>+</sup> T cells from MDR-TB patients infected with MDR Haarlem strains show higher IL-17<sup>+</sup> IFN-γ<sup>-</sup> and lower IL-17<sup>+</sup> IFN-γ<sup>+</sup> levels than LAM-infected patients.
