Some polymorphisms of cytokine genes have been reported to be associated with DIH involving interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-10 (IL-10) and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α); however, these studies are still scanty with inconsistent results.
The aim of this study was to investigate TNF-alpha messenger RNA (mRNA) expression in hypoplastic CDH lung using in-situ hybridization histochemistry, to determine the molecular basis of the SF deficiency in the hypoplastic CDH lung.
