Taken together, our results suggest that miRNA‑148a inhibits lymphatic metastases of papillary thyroid cancer through STAT3 and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways.
Using human thyroid cancer-derived cell lines [harboring rearranged during transfection (RET)/PTC, v-RAF murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B (BRAF), or rat sarcoma virus oncogene (RAS) alterations], we determined that IL-6/gp130/JAK signaling is responsible for STAT3 activation.
The results show that LKB1 inhibits rearranged in transformation (RET)/papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC)-dependent activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), which is mediated by phosphorylation of STAT3 tyrosine 705 by RET/PTC.
