A systematic review was conducted on the relationship between childhood asthma and VDR gene polymorphisms, including ApaI (rs7975232), BsmI (rs1544410), FokI (rs2228570), and TaqI (rs731236).
Asthma control was assessed according to the Global Initiative for Asthma guidelines (GINA) and Childhood Asthma Control Test (C-ACT) and, for the first time, tested for its possible association with VDR SNPs.
