Important cell cycle genes such as p53, ATM, cyclin D2, and Rb have shown altered expression patterns in different brain tumors such as meningioma and astrocytoma.
Also, cyclin D2, P53, Rb and ATM mRNA expression in each group of tumors (meningioma and astrocytoma) showed a highly positive correlation in lower grades.
The haplotype analysis in ATM revealed an increased frequency of the 1-1-1-2-1 haplotype in meningioma cases (33.8%) compared with controls (30.3%) (p = 0.03).
