The miR-214/LZTS1 pathway provides a new insight into the molecular mechanisms that the occurrence and development of ESCC and it provides a novel therapeutic target for ESCC.
We observed that miR-214 expression exhibited a frequent down-regulation in ESCC tissues and cells, compared to adjacent normal tissues and cells, respectively.
Taken together, our study indicated a HAS1-miR‑214-SOX-4 pathway in regulating the growth and metastasis of ESCC, providing a promising target for ESCC therapy.
These findings suggest that decreased expression of miR-98 and miR-214 might promote metastasis of human ESCC by inducing accumulation of EZH2 protein.
