Sialuria, a disorder of sialic acid (NeuAc) metabolism characterized by increased free NeuAc in the cytoplasm of cells, is due to failure of CMP-Neu5Ac to feedback inhibit UDP-N-acetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc) 2-epimerase.
