We performed AGT, AGTR1 and ACE genotyping in 56 hypertensive women (24 with MetS) and 71 normotensive women using PCR-RFLP methods and PCR, respectively.
In postmenopausal women, an increased MetS risk was found for the ADRB2 rs180088 (OR 1.28, 95% CI 0.99-1.65), PAI1 rs1799768 (OR 1.07, 95% CI 1.01-1.14), SCNN1A rs5742912 (OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.01-1.47), and IL1A rs1800587 (OR 1.07, 95% CI 1.01-1.15), whereas the AGTR1rs5186 (OR 0.93, 95% CI 0.87-0.99) was associated with decreased risk.
We have therefore investigated the association between the angiotensin II type I receptor gene polymorphism (AT(1)R/A1166C) and the presence of diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome in a well defined group of patients.
We investigated three RAS gene polymorphisms--the ACE insertion/deletion (I/D), angiotensinogen (AGT) M235T, and angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) A1166C polymorphisms--for a possible role in modulating these disorders in 853 Chinese subjects with varying components of the metabolic syndrome.
The aim of the study was to estimate the influence of interactions between peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) and target genes lipoprotein lipase (LPL), interleukin 6 (IL6), angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), and angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) on metabolic syndrome (MetSy) and its traits.
Therefore, we investigated whether azilsartan, a potent angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist, can protect against the deterioration of the PVAT compensatory vasodilator function that occurs with aging in MetS.
We aimed to investigate the association between angiotensin II receptor type 1 (ATR1) or type II (ATR2) genes polymorphisms and PCAD with or without metabolic syndrome in males.
The gain-of-function rs5186A1166C variant in angtiotensin receptor type 1 (AGTR1) gene has been linked to hypertension, cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome.
The AGTR1A1166C polymorphism may be considered a genetic marker predisposing to an increase in BP and the development of the metabolic syndrome in subjects screened for stage 1 HT.
