Both the ENSs' and AHNSs' groups: (a) had similar values of FBG (5.38 ± 0.58 vs. 5.60 ± 0.37), TC (4.87 ± 1.16 vs. 4.36 ± 0.74), HDL-C (0.92 ± 0.30 vs. 0.82 ± 0.21), LDL-C (3.09 ± 0.98 vs. 2.92 ± 0.77), SBP (117 ± 9 vs. 115 ± 8), and DBP (76 ± 6 vs. 73 ± 7); and (b) included similar percentages of males having normal weight (17.2% vs. 31.0%); overweight (44.8% vs. 62.1%); android obesity (79.3% vs. 59.6%), hypertension (10.3% vs. 10.3%), hyperglycemia (37.9% vs. 48.2%), and MetS (51.7% vs. 34.5%).
The conclusions are as follows: (1) There were no statistically significant relationships between vitamin D₃ levels and MetS parameters, namely the level of triglycerides, the levels of low- and high-density lipoproteins (LDL and HDL), the level of total cholesterol, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP).
Simple logistic analysis showed that sex (OR 3.50, 95% CI 1.21-10.12, p = 0.021), age (OR 1.14, 95% CI 1.07-1.21, p<0.001), BMI (OR 1.11, 95% CI 1.01-1.22, p = 0.028), waist circumference (OR 1.06, 95% CI 1.02-1.10, p = 0.002), SBP (OR 1.03, 95% CI 1.01-1.04, p = 0.003), DBP (OR 1.03, 95% CI 1.00-1.06, p = 0.030), HDL-C (OR 0.97, 95% CI 0.94-1.00, p = 0.026), uric acid (OR 1.84, 95% CI 1.49-2.27, p<0.001), metabolic syndrome (OR 2.68, 95% CI 1.29-5.67, p = 0.009), and decreased BMD (OR 3.998, 95% CI 1.38-11.57, p = 0.011) were significantly associated with CKD.
