The most frequent laboratory risk factors were increased levels of FVIII (n = 4), mild hyperhomocysteinemia (n = 3), and factor V Leiden mutation (n = 2).
We conclude that it is likely that the increased risk of venous and arterial thrombosis in hyperhomocysteinemia is mainly related to elevated FVIII levels.
