<i>AHR</i> and <i>CYP1B1</i> mRNA levels were associated with the poor clinical prognosis markers tumour grade, lymphovascular invasion, cell proliferation and lymph node metastasis.
<i>Conclusions:</i> The high expression of p75NTR in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissue can indicate the invasion depth of the cancerous tissue and lymph node metastasis, and the clinical introduction of the p75NTR index can be the basis for an effective prognosis prediction in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
<i>In vivo</i>, we found that hcc49scFv-FasL drastically reduced the formation of lymph node metastasis and decreased primary tumor growth in SAS orthotopic and subcutaneous xenograft tumor models.

18F-FDG PET/CT identified 19 patients (sensitivity: 67.9%) in 28 patients with lymph node metastases, and 22 patients (specificity: 88.0%) in 25 patients without lymph node metastases, with an accuracy of 77.4%.
18F-FDG PET and PET/CT both have excellent diagnostic performance for detecting lymph node metastasis, including PLN and PALN metastasis, in patients with endometrial cancer preoperatively.
(1) The positive expression rates of Cx43 and E-cadherin protein were higher in the adjacent normal tissues than those in the primary lung carcinoma tissues; (2) the positive expression rates of Cx43 and E-cadherin protein decreased with NSCLC progression; (3) the expression of E-cadherin protein was not related with the pathological type of NSCLC; and (4) the relative quantity of the Cx43 or E-cadherin mRNA expression was correlated with the the histological type, clinical stage, cancer cell differentiation and the lymph node metastasis.

(2) The level of TGF-beta 1 mRNA expression was higher in patients with gastric cancer invaded only at the mucosa and submucosa than in patients with gastric cancer invaded over muscular propria, and also higher in the patients without lymph-node metastasis or perineural invasion than in the patients with lymph-node metastasis or perineural invasion.
(3) The pooled odds ratios (ORs) showed that increased Flotillin-1 level was also related to lymph node metastasis (OR =6.30; 95% CI: 3.15-12.59), distant metastasis (OR =6.02; 95% CI: 1.50-24.06) and more advanced TNM stage (OR =4.69; 95% CI: 2.74-8.03).
(4) A high level of plasma miR-744, which was correlated with lymph node metastasis (P=0.0407) and recurrences (P=0.0376), was an independent poor prognostic factor of PCa patients after pancreatectomy (P=0.0007, HR 21.2 (3.17-436)).
(Mech Dev, 98, 2000, 95) Notch 1-4 are up-regulated in NSCLC tissues and Notch 1, 2 are positively correlated with lymph node metastasis, (Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 106, 2009, 22293) DAPT treatment could inhibit NRSP and induce apoptosis, with a marked increase in cleaved PARP, decreases in XIAP and Survivin proteins and concomitant release of Smac, EndoG, and AIF from mitochondria, indicating that inhibiting NRSP by DAPT triggers caspase-dependent and caspase-independent apoptosis.

120 cases of primary gastric carcinomas and 45 matched lymph node metastases from patients with full clinicopathological features were mounted onto multiple-punch and single-punch tissue microarrays, respectively, and examined for HER2 overexpression and gene amplification by IHC and CISH.
Lymph node metastasis was found at a significantly higher incidence in the nm23(+/-/-) cases (18/27, 66.7%) than in the nm23(+) cases (4/17, 23.5%) (p>0.001).
