Immunohistochemical staining showed that CXCR7, EGFR, phospho-ERK, and phospho-AKT amounts increased from normal cervical epithelia and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia to CSCC, and CXCR7 was associated with the disease stage, lymph node metastasis, tumor size ≥40 mm, and EGFR expression.
RESULTS CXCR7 was upregulated in PCa tissues (P<0.05) and was correlated with PSA (P=0.023), differentiation (P=0.022), and lymph node metastasis (P=0.018).
Compared to NPC patients with low-grade (stage I-II) tumor node metastasis (TNM) and those without lymph node metastasis, the expression of CXCR4, CXCR7, and CXCL12 were significantly higher in NPC patients with high-grade (stage III-IV) TNM and those with lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05).
We propose that aberrant expression of CXCR7 plays a role in carcinogenesis, differentiation and metastasis of CSCC, implying its use as a potential target for clinical biomarkers in differentiation and lymph node metastasis.
