The aim of the present study was to study the impact of altered actin transport between the cytoplasm and nucleus by the downregulation of importin-9 (IPO9) in breast adenocarcinoma MCF-7 cells exposed to an apoptosis-inducing combination of garlic-derived S-allyl-L-cysteine sulfoxide (alliin) and paclitaxel (PTX).
We used a tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha resistant breast adenocarcinoma MCF-7 cell line to investigate the involvement of the actin cytoskeleton in the mechanism of cell resistance to this cytokine.
