Conclusions: As both Snail and ZEB1 are crucial inducers of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), our data suggested that CD44 may be crucial for the EMT process of ovarian cancer.
Meanwhile, we found that silencing miR-101 promoted cell migration, whereas the overexpression of miR-101 suppressed EMT and cell migration in OvCa cell lines through the regulation of ZEB1.
Taken together, our results indicate that miR-1236-3p regulates ovarian cancer metastasis by directly targeting ZEB1, and it may play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer.
To further investigate the regulation of TCF8 by estrogen, ZEB1 mRNA was measured in ten estrogen-responsive cell lines, but it is only induced in the OV266 ovarian carcinoma line.
