Globally, our data represent the first evidence that PIM kinases regulate TRAIL-induced apoptosis in GBM and identify a specific role of p62/SQSTM1Ser332 phosphorylation in the regulation of the extrinsic apoptosis pathway activated by TRAIL.
We conclude that U1i represents an alternative to RNAi for the therapeutic silencing of pathologically upregulated genes and demonstrate the functional relevance of Pim-1 oncogene knockdown in glioblastoma.
