We found that angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) /Ang-(1-7)/MasR were decreased in the lungs of mice with IPF induced by bleomycin, and were negatively correlated with Tgfb1 mRNA expression.
Although previous studies suggest that administration of ACE2 prevents PH secondary to bleomycin-induced murine IPF, it is unknown whether ACE2 can reverse or treat existing disease.
