RASSF1A, GSTP1 and CDH1 gene promoter methylation was present in 85.4, 68.3 and 31.4% of EEC samples when compared to that in the controls with 30.0, 35.0 and 20.0%, respectively.
LOH of CDH1 gene was found in 57.1% of NEECs but only in 22.5% of EECs (p = 0.011) and showed a trend towards association with reduced E-cadherin expression (p = 0.089).
