GBS infection (10(9) colony-forming units, 0.5 mL intracerebroventricular) of sedated newborn piglets induced the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha in the cerebrospinal fluid after 2 hours, upregulated bNOS expression in both brain and MVs, upregulated ecNOS in MVs, and downregulated COX-1, COX-2, and ecNOS in the brain.
