The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of APC/C<sup>Cdh1</sup> as a potential therapeutic target in the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cell CNE-1, and explain the role of APC subunits after silence of Cdh1 combined with radiotherapy.
In the current study we investigated the impact of the functional C/A genetic polymorphism at -160 from transcriptional start site of the E-cadherin gene promoter on susceptibility and prognosis in NPC.
The methylation status of p16, deleted in lung and esophageal cancer (DLEC1), zinc finger, MYND-type containing 10 (BLU) and E-cadherin gene promoters was investigated in 44 Tunisian NPC biopsies and three NPC xenografts, by methylation-specific PCR (MSP) combined with a quantitative assessment of some of the samples.
This study was designed to detect methylation of E-cadherin gene promoter and gene mutation of beta-catenin in exon 3 and their expression of protein and mRNA in primary tumor and lymph node metastatic tumor of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), and investigate the mechanism of invasion and metastasis of neoplastic cells in NPC.
The methylation profile of NPC in order of frequency was CDH1 (50%), CDKN2B (50%), THBS1 (50%), RASSF1A (46%), MLH1 (40%), MGMT (28%), CDKN2A (23%), TP73 (20%), caspase-8 (7%), ARF (3%) and VHL (0%).
