In univariate analysis, albumin-bilirubin grade (22.3 ± 3.8 vs. 11.6 ± 4.2; P = 0.03), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (21.8 ± 3.6 vs. 7.3 ± 2.6; P =0.04), presence of extrahepatic metastases (30.1 ± 5.4 vs. 7.4 ± 2.0; P = 0.001) and portal venous thrombosis (26.5± 4.8 vs. 10.5 ± 2.1; P = 0.01) had significant effect on OS.
Results: Among the 213 CHC patients, the elderly patients had a higher rate of worse Child-Pugh grade (P=0.027), abnormal serum albumin (P<0.001) and lymphoid metastases (P=0.024).
Chemoimmunomodulation with a TLR-7 agonist and albumin bound paclitaxel is effective in inducing disease regression in treatment-refractory breast cancer chest wall metastases but responses are short-lived.
Albumin mRNA was found in the blood of 3 patients with histologically proven metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma and in 9 of 21 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and undetectable metastases, giving a percentage rate of 43, similar to the relapse rate following liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma.
