In vitro, we demonstrated, using cultured human PASMC from PAH patients, that α-solanine reversed dysfunctional AXIN2, β-catenin and bone morphogenetic protein receptor type-2 signaling, whereas restored [Ca]i, IL-6 and IL-8, contributing to the decrease of PAH-PASMC proliferation and resistance to apoptosis.
(5) In vitro, recombinant sCD40L induced monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1 and interleukin-8 gene expression in endothelial cells, and plasma levels of these chemokines were raised in all PAH groups, significantly correlated to sCD40L and hemodynamic parameters.
