Serum from 144 IBS patients and 42 healthy subjects was analyzed for cytokine levels of interleukin (IL)-5, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12p70, IL-13, IL-17A, interferon (IFN)-γ, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) by MSDMULTI-ARRAY.
Quantitative real-time PCR was used to determine mucosal cytokine mRNA expression and the MSDMULTI-ARRAY assay system platform was used for analysis of cytokines in serum.
