Previous studies have shown that uPAR(-/-) knock-out mice exhibited enhanced susceptibility to epileptic seizures and had brain cortical anomalies consistent with altered neuronal migration and maturation, all features that are reminiscent to the phenotypes caused by SRPX2 mutations.
