Our findings indicate that miR-182 may promote cell proliferation and migration in TNBC possible via down-regulation of FOXF2. miR-182 may serve as a potential target in TNBC treatment.
Collectively, the results of the present study improve our understanding of the role of miR-182 in TNBC, knockdown of which facilitates the degradation of ubiquitin chains on RIP1, leading to the caspase-8 activation and apoptosis in TNF-α-treated TNBC cells.
Moreover, miR-10b, miR-21 and miR-182 were significantly associated to lymph node metastases occurrence in triple negative breast carcinoma while only miR-10b was associated with grade III in non triple negative breast cancer cases.
Western blot was used to measure the effects of miR-182 on the PFN1 protein expression levels in the cells. qRT-PCR results showed that compared with the relatively normal tissues adjacent to TNBC, miR-182 expression was significantly increased in the TNBC tissues and the MDA-MB-231 cells (p<0.01).
